Reviews on Black Decker Toaster Ovens

This review is from: Black & Decker TRO480BS Toast-R-Oven 4-Slice Toaster Oven.

We looked at numerous ovens and wanted something that did the basic things and didn't take up much space. No convection they have a convection oven and no digital - its a basic appliance. They looked at the B&D 240 but this appeared basic and flimsy. Then they saw this. It's all the basics, it is a nice, tiny size and its silver / black which matches our kitchen. It's three controls as compared to the basic model w/ two making it simple to choose temp, function and time. The handle is securely attached to the glass door -the metal ends wrap around the glass so it won't fall off a complaint about other ovens. It's a pleasant slide out crumb tray that has access from the front with the oven door close - this makes it simple to empty. Nicely toasted our first bagel in a couple of minutes and it was evenly browned, something our regular toaster did not do well at all.

Pros
Gets hot rapid
Basic controls work well
Simple access crumb tray
Even toasting and heating

Cons
Not plenty of
The top and sides do get hot so don't store anything on this.

This review is from:Black & Decker TR1256W 850-Watt 2-Slice Toaster with Bagel Function and Removable Crumb Tray

I have owned lots of toasters, from pricey english models to this basic black & decker. Over the years, I have come to the conclusion that that it doesn't matter how much a toaster costs, it will only last 1-2 years. This black & Decker model seems ok. It does well with bagels & frozen items, but regular toast seems to puzzle it. Without changing the settings, later batches of toast will emerge without any consistency at all. While the toast is never burned, it is also never ideal at first try, no matter what the level is set to. That being said, it works, & it cost only around $20, so I cannot complain.

Color Name:Black|Size Name:2-Slice
I have used this toaster every day for a couple of weeks now, & the only thing it's going for it is looks & cost. I read Amazon reviews for everything else, don know why I didn't in this case.

The first issue is that it doesn't toast evenly. A quantity of the coils don't appear to get hot (red), so there's bands in your toast that are not browned. It's to be turned up high to get the whole piece, then the rest is so hard it is disagreeable. And, that makes the cooking time much longer. Secondly, when the toast is finally completed, the bread doesn't come out far so that for even a regular sized slice of bread your fingers must touch the hot toaster to get the piece out.

I absolutely do not recommend this toaster.

Reviews on CTO4500S Counter Top Convection Oven by Black Decker

Being a single, when it comes to cooking supper you do not always need to make use of the oven for a chicken breast and a baked potato. For that reason, I love having a toaster oven as it is a great alternative for heating up the giant oven.
buying from Amazon

Recently my toaster oven of over0 years died and it was time to replace it. I went to the store to get an idea of what these cost and to find out what exactly I wanted. While you may not think that toaster ovens alter a lot, it turns out, they have.

My elderly toaster oven could cooking and toasting, but that was about it. It also did not fit much over something the size of a loaf of bread. I had bought a bread pan recently but it was a tiny bit giant to fit in to my elderly toaster oven, so I was one time looking for find something that it would fit in to.

I ended up purchasing my toaster oven through Amazon. I was one time impressed with how quickly it showed up came home from work day and saw it sitting on my front step waiting for me. It was the standard features you would find in any toaster oven and it is and a convection oven and has a warm feature on it as well. I have heard that convection ovens cook faster than regular ones but I do not notice much of a difference myself.

This toaster oven also has a recessed area so that a person can put a 12 pizza in to it to cook. I recently checked this out and it worked brilliantly. For some reason, my regular oven and pizza do not agree as I finish up setting off my smoke alarm when I cook pizza, but now I can use the toaster oven with no issue.

It came with a cooking tray and a rack so that you can cook toast on it. I don tend to make plenty of toast so I have not tried out that feature. The cooking tray is great for making dinner for on. I can fit a few chicken fingers as well as Italian fries on it and supper is prepared. My bread pan fits as well with room to spare.

I highly recommend this toaster oven in case you are looking for a new without spending plenty of money.

Like most reviewers, I have had plenty of toaster ovens over the years. I usually do not find time for reviews, but thought I had some matchless insights on this model.

The lovely: Looks attractive, and matches my stainless kitchen. The quartz heating tubes throw plenty of infrared light, much like B&D's Infrawave product. The heating element protectors do a lovely job of keeping food off, but still letting the light shine through. I am liking the funky metal arms that pull the tray out. Yes, they look daft, but they pull the tray out when it is hot, yet don't prevent you from grabbing it and pulling it all the way out, and they work in all positions. I have tried all cooking modes, and it does an incredible job.

The bad: Fundamentally, no new toaster ovens can match the ones that was built, and I assume this is due to liability concerns and pricing pressures. My earlier toaster ovens had a temperature sensor in toaster mode, while this only makes use of time. Toaster mode in this model is oven at 450 with convection fan off. The toast comes out great, but you do not have the fine level of control that older temperature sensor control dial had, so you cannot walk away and come back when it dings. Also, this toaster oven only heats to 450 degrees, while my earlier ones went to 500, and I could trick them to be even hotter for steaks press toast button when in oven mode. This is probably due to the nonstick coating of the oven interior, which is only lovely to 450. My older ovens had the self-clean interior lovely for 800+ degrees.

note - some reviewers lamented that the convection fan is not on in toast mode. Toast mode and oven mode is the same thing, so use oven set to 450 in the event you require the fan on when toasting.

So my conclusion? This is a keeper. Food comes out great, in all modes. The huge amount of infrared light thrown by the quartz tubes in such a little shiny oven yields great browning, searing, and flavor. In the finish, it is all about the food, and food comes out very tasty in this small gem.

This is a great looking toaster and amazon had a great cost on it. It was and a best pick several times from Consumer Reports, in the event you didn't require to get their #1 pick which was about $175. This small man was so cheap on Amazon and works great. beacause of the location of outlets in our kitchen, the plug hits the pizza bump in back so the toaster protrudes on the counter a bit, but no giant deal. So happy that I got it! I wish that I had done it sooner since our elderly toaster was clunky, obsolete, and the wrong color for our kitchen. This made a giant difference in the appearance of our kitchen for such a small cost.

This is a great oven for a lovely cost. I did lots of research several other models & brands. I do not agree with lots of of the reveiws. This oven performs all the functions it claims it can do. I did not have any fires, my door closes perfectly & my toast is fine. I do know as a Professional Chef you do not leave any equipment unattended in the kitchen. I am very satisfied with this oven.

This product does what it supposed to do. It does a great job of baking a small batch of rolls or cookies, a couple of potatoes, or a pie. What makes this do these jobs better than most toaster/ovens is that it is a true convection oven. While it takes longer to reheat pizza than a microwave, the few additional minutes is worth it as the pizza comes out with a crispy crust & melted cheese. Microwaving pizza is great in case you like a soggy mess.

I saw poster complained about the noise of the convection fan. Yes, you can listen to it but compared to my microwave or my vent hood it is the quietest of the & the benefits of the convection make it worth it.

Style wise it is stunning although the grey plastic is kind of tacky looking they ought to have either gone to black or white.

Like all toaster-ovens it is not the quickest for toasting, a regular toaster is better for a couple of slices, but if you are doing slices & require them to come out simultaneously the browning is uniform, actually better than my Krups slice toaster. It claims to be a six slice toaster, but only in the event that they are smaller than average slices. If it were a true six slice toaster it would not fit on my limited counter space. Of coursework it is lovely if you are doing a couple of split bagels or English muffins.

My complaint is the knobs, the timer knob. It ought to have knurling on it to facilitate rotating it with wet hands or if an older person is using it. I understand what the issue is as the knob controls a mechanical timer that needs to be wound, but I think they could have found with a less powerful spring. In case you do purchase this product keep in mind to rotate the timer past twenty & then back if it is less than twenty minutes cooking time.

So with that reservation, I would highly recommend the Black & Decker CTO4500S to somebody.

When I was looking for a brand spanking new toaster oven to replace that was "toast," I researched  every brand. I was willing to pay $100 or more for a lovely, well-designed, quality unit. I doubted that this Black & Decker model could be excellent - the cost was low. But the reviews were lovely & I risked ordering.
When it arrived & I began to make use of it, I discovered that it was well designed. It is compact in size, the ergonomics are excellent. It works well. It jogged my memory of the first toaster oven that I bought in about 1976 which I think was a B&D unit of similar design. I noticed that B&D has refined the model over plenty of years, correcting minor issues & irritations. This works! It cooks well & quickly. It is a pleasure to make use of. When the door is open you do not must risk burning your fingers to reach under the door to grasp the handle. The "keep warm" function works well & will keep items slightly warm or warm. Toast comes out the way I am liking it - but be cautious not to set the timer for long! There is ample room for slices. It heats up quickly. I love the way the pan can slide under the grill to catch drippings - works well with steaks & for reheating slices of pizza. The mechanism that pulls the grill out when the door opens is convenient & remarkably simple for its effectivenss. I love the tiny size - it takes up tiny space on the counter. This is a well-engineered appliance.
The unit appears to be moderately well-made & I imagine that the toaster oven will last physically for a long time. Our experience with our last toaster ovens that the electronic controls burned out or quit long before the body, door etc. was worn out. All of them were still lovely looking & only several years elderly  but electrically dead.
Don't be concerned about the low cost - this is of those pleasant situations (for the consumer) where the lowest priced item is well-designed & a pleasure to use

3 -

I liked this toaster oven because of it is comparatively tiny size and simple design. The only negative I find is that the control buttons are a bit cumbersome to make use of. For example, in case you need to toast a piece of bread, you need to set each of the buttons on toast. It is also not simple to get the setting for the darkness of the toast in the right place. The oven gets hot so it will basically burn the bread while toasting. To bake something works better but it is still confusing and redundant to set the controls. If I get used to these controls, I think I will be happy with this toaster oven.

4 -

I was skeptical to order after reading a quantity of the reviews but I must say I would have been sorry if I didn't give it a try. This toaster oven works well, toast very fast & forget about review saying why three knobs-it is so simple to make use of & the ticking timer not loud & you turn last knob off if completed early so you don't listen to timer. It looks great with all my new stainless steel appliances & doesn't take much counter space.Worth every penny & I had it delivered in days.

5 -

You never crave a piece of toast with a little bit of strawberry jam till your toaster oven goes on the fritz & you cannot have. Such was the case with our last toaster oven.

So they were toastless but after reading the reviews on Amazon I could not choose what to buy because none of them sounded that great. I was preparing to put out the bucks for of the bigger, fancier models when I gave it some thought. Most of the bigger, fancier models I had owned, had stopped working after about two years, where as the Black & Decker model I had a while ago had kept on toastin' for some time.

So I opted to go for this cheap Black & Decker model & I am glad I did. Not only is the cost point excellent but it does a great job. Despite being only a four slicer, it is roomy, but it sports a little footprint. The model is also stylish & will go well with any color kitchen.

The dial does must be turned back past the ten & then forward to toast but I prefer simple use over an electronic menu that requires lots of thought. A simple piece of toast does not need to have an elaborate operation behind it.

Lately, I have been eating a rapid English Muffin lunch. slices of turkey on a whole wheat muffin, topped with a slice of swiss. The toaster does an ideal job of melting the cheese & toasting the muffin. Toast a mini waffle with mini chocolate chips for a sweet treat to pair with it, along with a salad. Delish!

Overall, happy with this purchase & enjoying toast & jam again.

Reviews on Toaster Model T4030 by Black Decker

This review is from: Black & Decker T4030 4-Slice Toaster

1 -
I have owned this toaster for about months now & am over happy with the toast I get from it. It appears to be very impossible to discover a toaster these days that will toast bread evenly & consistently. This not only does the job, but is also moderately priced.

I have used the (bagel) setting for English muffins & it works well, toasting the inside surface of the muffin while warming the crust side. Bread is evenly toasted on both sides. It doesn't matter which slot I use, the toast is consistently the same degree of (brown.) Each pair of slots has its own set of controls, so you can toast to different degrees of (brown) simultaneously. The (frozen) setting works with frozen bread as it ought to. In short, this toaster does exactly what it is supposed to.

I have only criticisms. First, it takes a very long time to get the job done. That is ameliorated by the fact that there's slots, making it two times as fast as a two-slot toaster. To toast bread to a medium-brown takes about three:30 (minutes:seconds) on setting number. The settings go to six, which yields a smoking, very black, piece of toast after four:30. In case you need your toast truly black, you'll must make use of the "frozen" setting.

My other criticism is its size. Check the dimensions & make positive that you can live with them. This toaster is large.

I have found more criticism, but it still doesn't affect my view that this is an excellent toaster. When the toast pops up, it is not raised high . The toaster will let you lift the toast another half-inch or so, but unless you are toasting a full-sized piece of bread (think English muffin) you won't be able to reach it without a tool. This is an irritation, but I stab the muffin with my butter knife & pull it out.
All in all, an excellent toaster. I'd buy it again.

2 -
I finally have a toaster even my husband can use! They do not must have separate toasters for my english muffins, my son's waffles, & my husband's toast. Each setting does EXACTLY what is said. This toaster takes a tiny longer to toast but toasts evenly which is another and in regard to other toasters. This product is simple to tidy. Black & Decker has always been a nice brand but this is the best yet! This puts the company in a more favorable position for my next purchases of household appliances (indoor or outdoor.) I highly recommend this product, however, make positive you have space as it is a giant toaster.

I read other reviews on this toaster. I was one time skeptical. I thought about the potential for the foul odor & told myself it is cause it is new. All new items with heating elements have a smell at first. I was one time right. The first few times I used it it's a tiny bit of an odor. But that is nothing. It is expected & does not last long. What was not expected was how happy I am with the product itself!! OMG! It works ideal! Toast is completed evenly & seldom burned. Bagels are cooked on ONE SIDE! You get crispy toasty on the inside & soft on the outside! Incredible. I cooked hamburgers & used the toaster to toast the buns like restaurants do! YUMMO!! It's a button for "frozen" so you can put a frozen waffle in the toaster & it will come out crispy & evenly cooked. Not half soggy & other half burnt. I am liking it!!! Black & Decker had always been a brand I trusted historicallyin the past & so I trusted it this time & it did not let me down. I recommend this toaster as a gift for any elderly that has difficulty eating positive foods & tends to eat toast most mornings. GREAT GIFT IDEA. I got this for me & my 63 year elderly dad & he LOVES it. He makes use of it over me & raves about it. In case you are looking for a toaster, cease looking. This is it!

4 -
Apparently, most of the issues with these toasters are evident right out of the box. The I got works fine. All the heating elements work. Everything I have put in so far has fit. The cord is not the longest, but it works. The toaster itself, takes up some counter space. But any 4-slice toaster would do the same. It's a pleasant modern look. Nice stainless steel finish, but not much stainless steel. Others I have looked at appear elderly school, being all stainless steel. They look like they would be fingerprint magnets. It doesn't toast perfectly even, put close. A couple of the selling points were the (Stereo Volume) knobs for adjusting toast darkness, & the blue indicator lights. The crumb trays are in the back, but that is not that huge of a deal. Bottom line: Looks nice on the counter & toasts everything I require. Also, I think it toasts faster than a number of the reviewers said(not light speed, but not bad)

Chrome styling with rich black accents, and must-have features, like frozen, bagel and cancel buttons, and wide slots for plenty of toasting options, make our 4 - slice toaster a kitchen classic.

that they doesn need to buy different toasters for her husband toast, her English muffins & child waffles. This toaster can do it all, and it is affordable & long lasting. Its sleek & compact design also fits her kitchen well & it doesn need a lot space.

The downside that they have present in this Toaster Model T4030 by Black Decker is that it takes a small longer to toast bread about three minutes than some other toasters on the market. This appears to be a trade off in getting consistent leads to the items you are toasting.  Personally, I would say it is worth a slight delay to get toast that is done right.

We give this a green light to buy. This Toaster Model T4030 by Black Decker Slice Toaster is a great addition to your kitchen not only because it makes great toast for you but its sleek & compact design can also give your kitchen a contemporary & wonderful look.

Reviews on Toaster model TR1256B by Black Decker

This review is from: Black & Decker TR1256B 850-Watt 2-Slice Toaster with Bagel Function and Removable Crumb Tray

1 -
Why do toasters bite the dust when you are relying on them? They recently had go to the great toaster cemetery in the sky and picked up this basic model locally.

It is wide for bagels, and has a frozen food setting that I use for my Toaster Strudel and my husband makes use of for frozen waffles. It works.

In case you didn't notice the photograph, it is black, like the remainder of my kitchen. In the months they have had it, it's toasted things nicely, it's not blown up or set my kitchen on fire, and it's not magically changed to another color. So it passes all of my tests.

In the event you need it to do something else, you most likely need another toaster or a different appliance, but this is exactly what it says it is.

2 -
I read so lots of reviews on toasters it was ridiculous. After some time, you recognize that every of them will finally produce a lemon that someone is not happy about. It is a toaster .pick the features you like & try it out. If it is not what you need. return it. The B&D TR1256B is definitely quality for the cost. Give me a bagel feature, don't burn my stuff, & don't swallow my sandwich thins & I will be happy. This toaster works great, looks lovely in my kitchen, has the right amount of features, & the cost is right. What else do you need?

3 -
First I bought didn't work at all. Exchanged it & the second works brilliant. No frills toaster, except for the bagel setting which I think is tidy. Setting five toasts bread perfectly

4 -
Great tiny toaster. Simple to make use of, blends with the kitchen well and is consistent in how toasted it makes the toast. Only ding is for the short cord. I am liking to slide the toaster out from under the upper cabinet so as not to risk setting it or the wall on fire. The short cord barely lets the toaster reach the fringe of the counter.

Mind you, I have read that (short cords) is now the norm in toasters. I guess manufacturers would you risk burning the upper cabinet or wall than letting some kid hang himself with the additional cord hanging down from the counter. Ya know they must have been sued for something like that or whatever.

Also, I have vowed to never buy an pricey toaster or coffee maker ever again. plenty of times they basically don't last. So, they shop and buy these 'cheap' appliances for under $20 and have been impressed. This toaster fits the bill (as does the $18 coffee maker). If it dies in a year, we'll basically replace it and not fret over the cost as they have done way plenty of times with so called "premium" model coffee makers and toasters priced much higher.

You ought to think about (cheapies) not only from a cost advantage, but also cleanliness. Unless you are willing to dismantle your tiny appliances for a detailed cleaning, do you want to keep forever?

5 -
As far as toasters go, this is nothing bizarre nor is it dissapointing. It toasts my bread, bagels & waffles like it said it would, so that makes me a content consumer. To someone looking to buy this toaster my only recommendation is to keep it on a low setting, unless you like your breads on the burnt side.
